First, the mount did not work on my car hauler stake pockets. This fitment was much smaller and was a sloppy fit if I mounted the way it was intended. I ended up drilling holes and bolting it a different way. Works fine, just not what I was expecting. Secondly, the wheel studs are intended to draw into the mount plate as you tighten the lug nut on the mount. The spline on the studs are longer than the thickness of the backing plate, so as you draw it in to tighten, you are also drawing it. into the lug nut. WHen you loosen the lug nut, you strip out the splines that are on the stud out of the back plate. Either the back plate needs thicker, or the splines need shallower, or a washer needs added between the backplate and lug nut so you dont draw the splined section into the lug nut when installing the stud. Now, when I go to loosen the lug nut, to remove the spare, the stud spins too. I will have to carry a set of vise grips with me to take the spare off. Small aggravation, but needless one.

I have an 8 lug 7000 lbs axle trailer. Hole pattern in tire mount would not fit my rim hole pattern. It was real close but one stud would be at an angle an wedge the rim on the stud. I tried to make it work with every hole pattern on the mount. I’m going to modify it to fit my needs. No big deal but some my not want to have to do this.
